Harris County ESD No.16 Commissioners approved a contract with architectural firm Martinez Architects to remodel two (2) of the existing Klein VFD stations. Remodeling the stations will include overnight quarters and upgrade the interior space to meet current fire department needs.
At its January meeting, Harris County ESD No. 16 commissioners selected Martinez Architects to remodel two (2) of the existing Klein VFD stations. The renovations will help to add overnight quarters and improve interior space to meet current fire department needs.
Klein VFD responded to a house fire in the 15000 block of Ripplewind near TC Jester last night. Firefighters from Ponderosa, Champions and Little York fire departments also responded to the fire. Despite some high winds and even some hail, David Besselo (Fire Chief for Klein VFD) says crews were able to get the fire knocked down quickly. The damage was contained to the roof, attic and one second-floor room. Today, the Red Cross contacted KVFD looking to aid the family. One of KVFD's district chiefs met with the homeowner and made arrnagements for the Red Cross to meet them today.
On November 19, 2015, the Harris County ESD No. 16 Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the purchase of two (2) new Pierce Velocity Engines for Klein Volunteer Fire Department which will enable firefighters to better serve the community. The engines will be purchased from Siddons Martin Apparatus utilizing the HGAC contract. The first engine should arrive in the summer of 2016. It will replace an existing engine which will move to the reserve fleet. The second engine is scheduled to arrive in December 2016 and will go into service at the new Klein VFD Station No. 8 located in the Gleannloch Farms area once that station comes online early in 2017.
Before the big game between Kleb Intermediate and Dooree Intermediate, the teams honored Jacob Munoz, a Kleb player battling leukemia. Munoz was also made an honorary firefighter by the Klein Volunteer Fire Department.
Harris County ESD No.16 Commissioners approved a contract with architectural firm BRW Architects to build a new station for Klein Fire Department. The station will be located near the intersection of Crescent Clover Drive and Champions Forest Drive. The ESD has budgeted $3.0 million for construction which is expected to begin in May 2016.
At its August meeting, Harris County ESD No. 16 commissioners selected BRW Architects to design the District's new fire station near the corner of Champions Forest Drive and Crescent Clover Drive. Station #8 will be designed to accomdate the future growth of the area and feature a three-bay pull-through facility with living quarters, overnight quarters and related support spaces.
Klein VFD responded to a 2-alarm fire at a hanger at Hooks Airport
Residents in Harris County ESD #16 voted in favor of the sales tax proposition. Passage of the proposition will establish 1% of available sales tax revenue
Harris County ESD #16 and Klein Fire Dept. held a dedication ceremony for Station #37. The station is located on T.C. Jester Blvd. just south of Spring Cypress. The new station replaced the station located on Winding Ridge in the Spring Creek Oaks Subdivision. The station houses an engine, equipment truck, rescue boat & utility vehicle.
