KLEIN, JUNE 6, 2019 - The Klein Volunteer Fire Department and Harris County Emergency Services District 16 are happy to announce that they will be hosting annual American Radio Relay League (ARRL) and Northwest Amateur Radio Society (NARS) field day on June 22.
The focus of the event is to introduce area residents to ham radio operations as a hobby or during emergencies when radio communications can be highly effective in helping to keep people safe.
Field Day includes affordable food and drinks such as grilled hot dogs, other snacks and soft drinks. Attendees will also have an opportunity to get on the air using a ham radio and testing for those interested in becoming licensed ham radio operators.
Field Day will take place at the Klein VFD station located at 16810 Squyres Road in Klein. The public is welcome from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and license testing will take place in the Board Room of the Klein Volunteer Fire Department’s administration building, located behind the fire station.
Those interested in testing for their ham radio licensure should contact NARS President Ron Matusek at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
