ABOUT US
ABOUT US
Klein Fire Department is a combination fire department, consisting of volunteers and paid firefighters. We constantly need volunteers that are ready for the rewarding and challenging task of becoming a first responder.
We have 8 fire stations that operate on 12 hour shifts. Our crews respond to all emergencies imaginable including house fires, plane crashes, major accidents, medical emergencies, weather events, gas leaks, grass fires, and many more. We often assist the community with the rescue of animals or other non-emergency situations when there isn't really anybody else to call. We provide community outreach and fire education, hosting Scout tours or other public events at our stations and going to schools demonstrating fire safety to young students. We can provide you the certified training needed to be successful in handling all of these situations.

THE CADET COURSE
Once you are cleared through our on-boarding process, we require attendance at our Cadet Class. The only cost to you, is your time and willingness to learn. The class is approximately 29 weeks during which you will participate in Live Fire exercises, hands-on skills training, and physical fitness training. Upon successful completion of the cadet class, you will have completed all State Firefighters’ and Fire Marshals’ Association objectives for Firefighter I and II. You will then start your career in the fire service as a probationary firefighter.
If you have your TCFP Certification or SFFMA Certification, please submit with your application. The Division Chief of Training will review your credentials and determine if you are exempt from attending the Cadet Class.
